Evergreen Care Tips

In light of the holiday greenery season I thought I would right about our different products and how best to keep them fresh long past the holiday.

There are a few general rules to follow, nothing too difficult.

 General Rules for Evergreens:

  1. Keep out of direct sunlight if at all possible. Sunlight will dry out greenery, and heat it up. Evergreens like it cold and moist! Sunlight will quicken their deterioration.

  2. Spritz every other day. Take a bottle of water and just spritz the back and front of your wreaths, porch pots, centerpieces. This helps to keep the moist and cool.

  3. Porch pots and wreaths will do best outside. The cool temps will help them stay fresh. If you have a glass door in front of your actual door, it is best to hang the wreath on the outside of the glass. When it is sunny those glass doors act as a greenhouse heating up to over 100 degrees. That will make your wreath deteriorate faster.

  4. For any greenery that is in a pot (centerpiece/porch pot) be sure to water once a week. This will help the greenery drink up water and stay fresh. I had a centerpiece well into February last year, just remember to water them and they will be looking good 👍🏼

  5. Wind can be the downfall for a lot of outdoor decor. Try to keep items out of a super windy areas as it dries out the greenery, and causes the branches/accouchements blow away.

  6. Amaryllis. Each planter/bulb comes with its own set of instructions. The main thing with these guys is to keep them warm, and do not over water. They do not like having wet feet!

Now you can totally disregard all this info, but if you want to make your items last this is a great guide to follow!
