Strawberry Basil Lemonade
This drink could not be simpler. I had it at a restaurant this past week and thought to myself this can’t be too hard to make! After a hot day outside I figured I would give it a go.
I got a four pack of herb plants that included basil at Costco a few weeks ago, and it is so nice having the plants right at my windowsill for use in the kitchen. Also berry season is just a few weeks away this will be great when fresh strawberries are in season!
Ingredients:
-Lemonade (I used Simply Lemonade, but any will do, or even homemade if you are feeling fancy!)
-Strawberries (can be substituted for whatever berry you have on hand)
-Water
-Fresh Basil Leaves
-Ice
In a blender or food processor blend a quart of strawberries and a cup of basil with 2 tablespoons of water. This will give you a paste like consistency. Add this to a gallon of lemonade. Add ice to your glass and pour over top, enjoy!
Some variations:
-Add Deep Eddy’s Lemon Vodka, or your favorite brand for a refreshing cocktail
-Swap out the strawberries for raspberry and the basil for thyme
-Add it all to a blender with ice and blend for a frozen drink
