Skipper's Landing a Sodus Bay Staple

This week I wanted to highlight a Sodus Bay staple. Skipper’s Landing has been owned and run by the Dean family since 1984. For over 30 years the business has been a family affair. You can walk in on any given day and see Eric behind the bar and Lisa escorting guests to their bay view dinner table, among other Dean family members in and out of the kitchen.

Skipper’s has a little bit of everything for the perfect day on the water. First off, you can come by water or by land. Across the street from the restaurant is a spacious parking lot on a very low traffic road.  Skipper’s also has its’ own set of docks for boats to pull up and dock for their meal. There is a large bar inside the restaurant, and a tiki bar on the outside deck for when the WNY weather cooperates. The frozen margaritas are a must try, and if they have the strawberry one even better! Eric always has a great rotation of seasonal, New York beers to try on tap along with all the classics. Occasionally there are bar events where the representatives from beer/liquor companies come out and give samples or discounts on their new drink selections!

As far as food you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. There is a spacious indoor dining area with a beautiful view of the East side of Sodus Bay. There is also a large deck area that you can eat out on as well. Each day there are menu specials but here are some of Kyle and I’s favorites:

My favorite meal of all time:

Haddock Wrap: crunchy, slightly sweet sauce excellent meal served with chips

Kyle’s Pick: Rib Dinner served with your choice of sides from an extensive list

Other great picks:  Fresh Perch, Prime Rib, Peanut Butter Pie, Eggplant Parm

Every time you go into Skipper’s you can count on consistent goodness. We have never had a bad meal there and look forward to many more delicious waterfront meals this summer.

Skipper’s Landing also hosts events in their semi-private dining area and have great packages of apps/dinner options to choose from.

The restaurant is located just a few miles from Chimney Bluffs famous hiking trails, Sodus Point Beach, and the Flower Stand at Barn Blooms!
